Valentines Day Pop Up Cards

Wow, Valentines Day isn't far away! As a recently married man I need to be on my A game this year :) So over the next couple of weeks I'm going to do my best to find the best papercraft and paper related goodies that you can make that special person in your life this year.

First we are going to need a card right? I'm a big fan of popup cards personally so here's a couple to get the ball rolling!

You can grab instructions for a love heart popup card here and a Valentine Candy Box popup card here.

Japanese Ship Papercrafts

You have got to love Japanese corporations approach to Papercraft, it almost seems like every business has to have a papercraft or two of their product or service, case in point check out the ships on the NYK site, I'm guessing these guys are ship builders?

Nice Models for the seafarers out there. Grab them here

C3PO paper model

Now you can be just like Anakin Skywalker and build your own C3PO model :) One of my favourite characters from the Star Wars universe, C3PO always seemed to be stressed about something and got dragged from one adventure to another with his various owners. A great looking C3PO paper model is available from this site.

Don’t forget to check out the homepage of this site for some more excellently constructed models to download.

Paper Models of Transformers

Although I really enjoyed the recent Transformers movie on the big screen, after watching it again on DVD I couldn't help feel somewhat disillusioned by Hollywood's treatment of an eighties classic, what if they had kept things simple like the good ol' days? Where's Soundwave! Where's Megatron turning into a freaking handgun? In desperation for nostalgia, I went in hunt of some Transformers papercrafts that represented the true school of Transformers and oh boy did I hit the motherload! You can check them out here, a truly impressive collection of Paper Transformers - Let's hope there is even more to come, I can only imagine the possibilities!

Papercraft V12 Engine

Via BoingBoing comes this incredible paper model of a V12 4 stroke engine, from the site:

"Each of 12 spark plugs (LEDs) is ignited accordingly to the moving cycle. Many moveable parts include a compound crankshaft, a rapid cooling fan, 12 rods and 12 pistons etc. It is made with paper entirely (except some little wood sticks, some tapes, some LEDs, some electrical wires, some switches, a motor and a battery holder."

It's an incredible creation that took two years to design and now it can be yours! For what I think is a pretty reasonable price for something that so much love has gone into designing.

You can check it out here

AirWolf Paper Model

Ah the eighties, everyone had a cool vehicle in the eighties – Magnum PI had his Ferrari, the A-Team had their van, Knight Rider had Kitt, Bj and the Bear had their mack truck, even Macgyver had his house boat. But probably the coolest TV vehicle to come out of that crazy decade would have had to been Airwolf - I mean it's a freaking supersonic military helicopter.

Show that you are a true child of the eighties with a fantastic Airwolf Papercraft.

Dragonball Z Papercraft

Well, Mr. Satan/Hercule and Majin Buu to be precise. They have been created by Mike McDermott - Does that name sound familiar? Well it should, he is the same clever chap that created the Halo Master Chief papercraft featured here (and just about everywhere on the net) not that long ago. I really like Mike's papercraft and I really like Dragonball Z, so these have made my day :)

You can grab Majin Buu here and Hercule here, don't forget to check the rest of Mike's Deviant Art pages out, there are more impressive paper models to be found.

Paper Model Tank

These are a really nice looking set of papercraft tanks from Sega, after a bit of sleuthing I am pretty confident that it comes from the Dreamcast game; Advanced Daisenryaku 2001 and to be honest, the very little I do know about this game is from the fountain of knowledge itself, Wikipedia:
Advanced Daisenryaku 2001 is a follow up to SystemSoft Alpha's Advanced Daisenryaku: Europe no Arashi. Both games run on Sega's Dreamcast system. Advanced Daisenryaku 2001 fixed some bugs and moderately improved the graphics of Europe no Arashi and as such it is less of a sequel and more of a fix.

Grab the papercraft here. (Sadly I can only find the link to one of awesome looking tanks :( If anybody has any luck locating the rest on the site let me know!)

Silent Hill Papercraft

Tubbypaws

Well, this talented paper modeler has pulled it off superbly. Kudos to Tubbypaws!
